General Description

Similar in concept to the ICS Module system, the ICS 1000 is meant for users who have standardized on the popular EuroRack format. Each module is of standard 4TE, 3HE dimensions and plugs into one slot within a 19" electronics rack. Most modules contain LED indicators on the front faceplate for visual indication of module power and circuit status. Where applicable test jacks are provided for connecting HART hand-held terminal, serial interface devices, or multimeters for configuration and diagnostics purposes. Jumpers and switch settings are supplied for initial configuration of module and field circuit parameters.

The wide array of signal conditioning and monitoring functions available on each module makes them ideally suited for industrial applications. In most cases the signal transmission may be easily configured in the field by the user. Electrical isolation is provided between the input/output and supply circuits thereby reducing susceptibility to outside electrical interference and ground loops. All modules have been tested according to IEC 801.1-5 for electromagnetic compatibility and are stamped with the CE mark.

For mid to large scale applications (100 channels) where it is critical to minimize the amount of floor space required by the intrinsic safety interface, the modules may be installed in either the Type 9861 Electronics rack or the Type 9864 Termination Panels. The latter of which has been prefabricated to interface directly with specific automation system I/O modules. Refer to pages 5/5 through 5/8 for further information.

For small applications the Type 9865 Casing is available for installing a single module on either 35mm DIN rail or flat surface. This casing may also be fitted with an internal power supply for energizing the module and field circuits. Termination's are made via screw terminals on the front panel.
