
High Stability RTD's Measure From -200°C to 850°C
A new line of resistance temperature detector probes has less than 0.05°C drift (typical) after more than 250 hours at 850°C. Comparably rated probes from other RTD manufacturers drifted up to 10°C and more when tested at 850°C. A special nickel alloy sheath prevents contamination of the 100 ohm platinum elements and brings the performance and precision of RTD's to applications which until now would have required less-accurate thermocouple sensors.
Inside these new probes is a 100 ohm platinum element, manufactured by Minco using platinum wire in a configuration that is practically strain-free. The RTD probes accurately sense over the full range of the international specification IEC 751: 200 to 850°C. Ice point tolerance is either IEC 751 Class A (±0.15°C sat 0°C) or Class B (±0.30°C).
The probes meet IEC 751 shock and vibration specifications, making them suitable for duty in harsh industrial environments.
Five probe diameters are available: 0.188", 0.250", 4 mm, 5 mm, and 6 mm. Leadwire options include bare wire, mica/glass- or Teflon-insulated.
Fittings, connection heads, and 4 to 20 mA transmitters are available as accessories.
