Combination Air Valves for Water
D-050 "Shelef"

Back

Description
The "Shelef" D-50 Combination Air Valve (Double Orifice) combines a Kinetic Air Valve and an Automatic Air Release Valve S-050.
The combination air valve discharges air during the filling or charging of the system and admits air to the system during draining. It also discharges accumulated air from the system, while operating under pressure.

Operation

Kinetic Component - the valve must discharge air at high velocity during filling of the system and admit air during its drainage.  The valve should be designed to prevent premature closing and discharge air up to 0.8 bar (11 psi) differential pressure.Automatic Component - the valve will release accumulated air from the system while operating under pressure.  Minimum orifice size of 12 sq. mm, enables the discharge of air at high flow rates, and is not exposed to obstruction by debris.

Pressure
0.2 - 16 bar (3 - 230 psi)
Testing Pressure - 25 Atm. (350 psi)

Reliable operation reduces water hammer incidents.
Dynamic design allows high velocity air discharge, up to 0.8 bar differential pressure; Preventing premature closing.
Lightweight, small dimensions, simple and reliable structure.
The body is made of high strength plastic, and all operating parts are made of specially selected corrosion resistant materials.
The drainage outlets enables removal of excess fluids.

Operation
Kinetic Component - the valve must discharge air at high velocity during filling of the system and admit air during its drainage.  The valve should be designed to prevent premature closing and discharge air up to 0.6 bar (8.5 psi) differential pressure.
Maximum discharge rate: 3" - up to 3,400 m3/h
Kinetic Orifice 4" nominal.
"No-Slam" orifice shut-off.

Automatic Component - the valve will release accumulated air from the system while operating under pressure.  Minimum orifice size of 36 sq. mm, enables the discharge of air at high flow rates, and is not exposed to obstruction by debris.
The valve releases air at up to 450 m3/h

NRS Valve (Non Raise Stem) - fixed height of shut-off valve stem.  When the shut-off valve is closed, the internal mechanism can be removed, completely and easily, upward, as a separate assembly, allowing easy maintenance from without the chamber.

Pressure
0.2 - 16 bar (3 - 230 psi)
Testing Pressure - 25 Atm. (350 psi)
