The NEMO® SA Aseptic Pump is employed for aseptic and hygienic applications in the foodstuff, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical/biochemical industries in order to provide continuous, pressure-stable, gentle and low-pulsation conveyance and dosing in proportion to speed. To avoid contamination from the environment, all hermetic areas can be sealed with steam or sterile condensate. The design with bearing block and free shaft ends enables the universal employment of any drive type. Many different regulatory bodies have set specifications for a hygienically correct configuration of components and machines, as well as for component cleanability. NEMO® Aseptic Pumps are designed, produced and inspected in accordance with the regulations of the EHEDG (European Hygienic Equipment Design Group) and the QHD (Qualified Hygienic Design). The materials used are approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the BfR (German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment). In addition, NEMO® Aseptic Pumps meet the specifications of the United States3-A Sanitary Standards and are GOST-R certified (a Russian certificate of conformity).

1 Rotor
In two geometries and with polished surfaces.

2 Stator with Reduced Walls
For changing temperatures, a patented stator with reduced elastomer wall thickness is used. In addition, a thermal stator protector (STP-2 or STP-D) provides protection against overheating and dry running. The stator inlet has a funnel-shaped opening for improved feed into the conveying chamber.

3 Drive Chain
The all-purpose flexible rod used for the transfer of power from the drive to the rotor in the NEMO® SA Aseptic Pump is corrosion-resistant as well as dead-space, wear- and maintenance-free, because no components move against each other as they do in joints. Neither lubricants nor seals are needed, so the lubricative properties of the pumped product need not even be taken into account. This is ideal for sensitive substances with or without suspended solids and for uncompromising hygiene.

4 Double-Layered Hermetically Sealed Areas
All static atmospheric seals are designed as chambered double seals. These chambers are continually charged with sterile condensate, steam and/or detector fluid. The contamination-proof construction shortens the processing cycle since further sterilization is unnecessary. Production capacity is increased and the number of cleaning cycles is reduced.

5 Housing / End Supports
The pump housing has a reduced diameter for optimal flow velocity and minimal housing volume. The housing support is directly above the shaft seals in a crevice-free arrangement. This prevents sedimentation in the housing during the production cycle.

6 Seal Casing
Shaft seals suitable for contact with foodstuffs, with compression-proof, bolted shaft seal housing, enable a reversal of the direction of rotation up to the maximum pumping pressure.

7 Bearing Block
A generously sized bearing with large bearing clearance guarantees the highest concentricity of the drive shaft even under great stress. The free shaft end makes it possible to universally connect any type of drive.

8 Casing (optional)
Sterile condensate, steam and/or detector fluid are conducted to the double-layered sealed areas by means of the casing.

Shaft Seal:
Double mechanical seals arranged in tandem with depressurized static or dynamic quench. Seal rings of SIC. FDA-approved elastomer material. The configuration of the rotating unit guarantees air-tightness under changing temperatures and pressures. The seals are in accordance with the regulations of the EHEDG (European Hygienic Equipment Design Group) and the QHD (Qualified Hygienic Design).

CIP/SIP Process
To achieve the velocity of flow necessary for the cleaning fluid of at least 1.5 m/s in the entire system in accordance with CIP procedures, NEMO® Hygienic and Aseptic Eccentric Screw Pumps are equipped with additional flushing supports in tangential configuration and must be equipped with a bypass line. The bypass is also necessary for the SIP process. The NEMO® Pump operates in a synchronized fashion both for the CIP and for the SIP process.

With tangential flushing supports, complete evacuation of the NEMO® pump is guaranteed. All pump materials are suitable for CIP and SIP processes.
