The APEX pump range from Bredel has set the standard for lowering acquisition, operating and maintenance costs for low to medium pressure applications. Robust and compact
The APEX pump incorporates Bredels long proven direct-coupled technology, delivering the most reliable pump design in a compact footprint. While the APEX gearbox mounts directly to the pump housing, the APEX pump rotor is supported by its own sealed bearing hub, isolating and protecting the gearbox from integral forces.
Pigment dosing in paper production
At a BillerudKorsnäs paper plant, a progressive cavity (PC) pump has been replaced with an APEX10 hose pump for dosing abrasive pigment in kraft paper manufacture.
The move has solved the problem of stator and rotor wear on the PC pump that was leading to a drop in performance, downtime, and the need for regular maintenance.

APEX in an industrial application
The potable water plant of a major US water authority controlled pH by dosing lime slurry with a progressive cavity pump running for approximately 12-16 hours a day at a rate of 900 litre/hour. They could see the benefits of using an APEX hose pump for this same lime slurry dosing duty.
