Magnetic Separators are used extensively throughout most Industries to remove ferrous contamination from process lines.
Contamination can enter your system with each delivery of raw materials, it can be caused by endless stray nails from packing cases, nuts and bolts vibrating loose, wear from moving parts, broken blades and rust from pipes and surrounding steelwork.
The list is endless... as is the damage it can cause once it enters your system.
Rare Earth rod magnets are extremely efficient at removing fine iron contamination
from free flowing products such as sugar, grain, tea, flour, granulate and
any other type of powder with a low moisture content.
This item can be supplied with blank, tapped or studded end for ease of
installation.
Rods are particularly useful for those engineers who wish to build their
own separator units or have severe room restrictions and are not able to
accommodate a conventional unit. All product contact parts are manufactured
using 316 grade stainless steel.

These units are extremely versatile and can be placed above conveyors,
at the side of chute work or even placed on finished product outlet points.
High
intensity Rare Earth Neodymium magnets are fully encased within a stainless
steel shroud allowing the unit to be utilised in wet applications. Deep
fields of magnetic energy are emitted from the front face attracting ferrous
contamination as it passes the magnetic face.
For optimum performance the strip magnet should, if used above a conveyor,
be positioned as close to the belt as permissible. The field depth emitted
is 80mm. All product contact parts are manufactured using 316 grade stainless
steel.

Drum magnets are ideal for the continuous removal of tramp and fine ferrous
contamination from dry bulk materials used in the processing of grain,
chemicals, minerals and recycling.
The drum should be fitted at the conveyor discharge or ideally directly
below a vibratory feed system. High performance Rare Earth magnets are
incorporated within a stainless steel, wear resistant drum shell. The
drum shell is supported on quality sealed flange bearings to ensure smooth,
efficient and reliable rotation of the shell around the magnetic element.

Magnetic liquid filters are designed to remove micron sized ferrous and
paramagnetic contamination from various types of liquids. A
matrix of Easy Clean rods containing high intensity Rare Earth Neodymium
Iron Boron magnets are housed within a stainless steel vessel.
The magnetic configuration ensures maximum exposure of contamination to
the high intensity rods without impeding liquid flow.Filters are available
in two versions, single wall and double wall jacketed. Jacketed filters
are used in heated pipeline applications where temperature is critical
to the product viscosity, for example, chocolate, syrups, jams and sauces.
Both these versions are tested and certified to operate at pressures up
to 6 bar as standard. Designs capable of working at 20+ bar are available
on request. All product contact parts are manufactured using 316 grade
stainless steel.

Whilst the primary function of this unit is to extract ferrous contamination
from product that is prone to caking or bridging, due to the rotary action
of the grid, contamination is presented to a greater number of magnetic
surfaces than a standard fixed grid therefore offering improved separation
characteristics.
The
rotating action of the grid assembly gently agitates the product flow and
prevents bridging that would normally occur in a fixed grid installation.
Products that benefit from this system are starches and powders with high
moisture contents.Housings are available for both square chutes and round
pipelines and are flanged to suit each customers requirement for ease of
installation.
Cleaning of this system is exactly the same as for the Easy Clean grid unit. All
product contact parts are manufactured using 316 grade stainless steel.

Magnetic grids are extremely efficient for removing fine iron contamination
from dry free flowing powders and granulates. Square grids are very versatile
and can be easily placed into product intake points and at finished goods
outlet points.
Square grids can be installed in minutes and provide instant protection.
Contamination such as rust, stainless steel scrapings and wear from machinery
are often too small to be detected by a metal detector, but are easily
removed by these highly efficient grids. All product contact parts are
manufactured using 316 grade stainless steel.

Recycling, quarrying and heavy industries continue to benefit from
metal contamination extracted by use of permanent magnetic Overband
units. Placed above flat or trough type conveyors, large permanent
magnetic packs generate deep penetrating magnetic flux fields that
attract and remove tramp steel items from conveyed products. A
rubber belt is driven around two rollers with the magnetic pack positioned
in the centre. Ferrous items are attracted by the magnet to the belt's
face and carried over and past the magnetic area until the contamination
is deposited into a collection bin or skip. These units can be supplied
with either an electric or hydraulic drive unit for mobile machinery
and are ideally suited for continuous use, where processing stops
infrequently or for heavily contaminated products.

Magnetic Separator For Pneumatic Conveying Lines!
Eclipse Magnetics Ltd recently launched what is claimed to be the
first 'secondary' design type of high intensity magnetic separator
for use in pneumatic conveying lines.
The PneuMag can be utilised in both blown and vacuum lines, and is
capable of removing ferrous and stainless steel contamination introduced
by incoming ingredients and line wear etc from flour, sugar, granulates
and other powders at line speeds up to 25 metres per second.
This new product incorporates a centrally positioned high intensity
magnetic grid cartridge with 'easy clean' facility. The magnetic cartridge
is secured into the housing via quick release toggle clamps which
dramatically reduces the time required to clean the unit, which can
be a short as 30 seconds.
As an added benefit the unit is also supplied with a lockable anti-tamper
proof cover and blue metal detectable silicon rubber seal.
The PneuMag is an invaluable addition to any food manufacturers quality
assurance plan and can be used in conjunction with already established
HACCP schemes.
