 For
aseptic and sanitary applications, the new flush-mounted
NAconnect™ sight port from L.J. Star Incorporated
provides clear process visibility and unmatched
safety with minimal maintenance requirements. The
NAconnect™ sight glass design eliminates the dead
leg created by a standard sanitary ferrule connection,
avoiding air pockets and trapped undissolved material.
These
new weld-on sight ports feature the MetaClamp™ sanitary
(3-A approved) safety sight windows which provide
a level of safety and a useful service life well
beyond that provided by the conventional tempered
glass or plastic windows commonly used in aseptic
and sanitary service. Also, the MetaClamp window
need not be removed during CIP and SIP since it
is comprised of corrosive-resistant borosilicate
glass and stainless steel with a temperature range
to 536°F.
NAconnect
sight ports are available in sizes from 1 inch to
4 inches, available with a variety of illumination
sources. A choice of standard sanitary clamp gaskets
such as Teflon and Buna-N is offered.
The
weld flange is made in accordance with ASME pressure
vessel code. The thickness and curvature can be
customized to mount flush with the vessel. The NAconnect
is designed for drainability during external wash
down.
