2-Wire Economy Hockey Puck Temperature Transmitter
This "Hockey Puck" style Temperature Transmitter fits directly in the head of an RTD or thermocouple temperature sensor offering several advantages over a plain sensor. Wiring is simplified since the lead resistance of the wires connecting the sensor to the control system can normally be ignored. Installation and start-up is simple and the signal can travel over long transmission lines without interference.

The ambient temperature specifications of this transmitter are among the industry's best. This is an advantage at high temperatures since heat travelling up the sheath to the head can cause the operating temperature of some transmitters to be exceeded.

The sensor current output is linear with temperature for RTD models and linear with thermocouple emf for thermocouple versions.

We can offer prompt deliveries of custom or standard ranges by maintaining a stock of semi-finished goods and finishing assembly to order.

Calibration

These transmitters have clearly marked zero and span pots. To calibrate connect a precision decade box to the RTD terminals. Since 1 degree Fahrenheit change is equal to a 0.2 ohm change you need a very accurate decade box to calibrate accurately. Insert a DVM set to mA in the 2-wire loop and apply power. With the decade box set to the scale beginning resistance from the table adjust the zero pot to obtain 4 mA. Change the resistance in the decade box to the scale end and adjust the span pot as necessary to obtain 20 mA. Go back and forth until the readings are stable.
