Process I/O For Process Control

MTL offers a booklet and a poster which explains the advan-tages of Process I/O and how it can be integrated into your process environment.

They also explain how Process I/O can save time and money and allow the potential of open fieldbuses to be used with a variety of field intruments. Includes reasons to implement Process I/O instead of traditional I/O technology.

Process I/O Products:

Series 8000 Process I/O

MTL8000 is the first distributed system for process applications. It is built to be mounted directly in harsh process plant environments and withstands extreme temperatures and corrosive environments. For hazardous applications, intrinsic safety is integrated with sensor signal conditioning for a cost-effective interface in hazardous areas.

TransPort Industrial I/O
The TransPort (tm) product line is a high-speed industrial I/O system that is meant to be mounted remote from the host computer, directly in the plant. This distributed solution provides considerable savings in wiring and in installation time. TransPort connects to several different computer interfaces, including PCAT ISA back-planes, VME back-planes, Modbus and other interfaces. TransPort interfaces to a full range of analog and digital I/O signals to satisfy virtually any remote I/O needs.

I/O-95 PC Based I/O
I/O-95 is distributed I/O for PCs, with drivers written to support many Windows95 and Windows NT industrial automation software products, including Intellution's FIX and FIX Dynamics, Wonderware's Intouch, Iconic's Genesis and Nemasoft's Paragon 32. It also interfaces to soft PLC packages, including Paradigm 32, Steeplechase and SoftPLC. C, C++ and Visual Basic API drivers are also available to enable users to interface to their desired host system. I/O-95 interfaces to a full range of analog and digital I/O signals to satisfy virtually any remote I/O needs.

Hazardous Area Displays
MTL offers a complete line of Intrinsic Safety Displays, including
3 ½ & 4 ½ digit displays and alphanumeric displays. These displays can be remotely configured to scale data to engineering units.

Process PCs
MTL670 Series Process PCs are fully sealed flat panel computers, with touch screen that are built for use in harsh and hazardous areas. 10.4" and 13.8" TFT LCD screens are available.

Signal Conditioners
MTL offers a comprehensive line of signal conditioners for interfacing to 4-20mA signals, sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, strain gage) and discrete inputs and outputs. These DIN Rail mounted modules provide cost effective solutions for common signal conditioning needs.

Sensors
MTL offers a complete line of Proximity Sensors for use in harsh environments, including inductive, magnetic and capacitive sensors. Sensors are available in a wide variety of mechanical interfaces and sensing distances.

Valves
Intrinsically Safe Pneumatic Solenoid Valves are available in single or dual solenoid versions. High quality machined valves incorporate a spool type design for higher flow rates

Hart Maintenance System
The MTL HART I/O System is the interface that connects HART Transmitters to a HART Maintenance system. The MTL system seperates the HART signals from the 4-20mA loop of the HART Transmitter and communicates with the Maintenance system over an RS-485 link. The MTL HART I/O System can interface to up to 7396 points per serial point connection.
