FILTRAL
METAL REMOVAL MATERIAL
Filtral is a screened granular media ideal for many liquid phase applications including the removal of arsenic, lead, fluoride chromium, zinc, iron, phosphates etc. Filtral is well suited for the removal of metals and other more water soluble inorganics because of its unique pore structure control and the ability to cause chemical reactions on its surface to eliminate contaminants from the waste water. Its high surface area and high porosity make it attractive for use in waste water while its size makes it appealing where low pressure drop is needed. Discharge effluent levels for compounds on the removal list typically are well below 1 ppm (NOTE: Variations will occur based on excessive influent concentrations.)
AAFS-50 ARSENIC REMOVAL GRADE
AAFS-50 is a granular media and promoted with a proprietary additive engineered to accomplish enhanced arsenic removal. Arsenic commonly occurs in two forms: As(V) (arsenate) and As(III) (arsenite). To achieve maximum performance arsenite must be oxidized to arsenate which is easily accomplished by treatment with an oxidizing agent, such as chlorine. AAFS-50 has shown arsenic capacities up to five times greater than unpromoted medias.
AAFS-50 effectively removes arsenic at a wider range of pH than unpromoted medias, requiring little or no pH adjustment of constituents of AAFS-50 are drinking water grade quality, suitable for potable water treatment.
AAFS-50 is readily available in granular form in sizes 28 x 48 mesh, with other sizes being supplied on special request.
