Accelerometers
bare the workload in vibration monitoring and data collection
processing. Designed for use in a broad range of applications,
various types of accelerometers including high frequency, low
frequency, high temperature, and specialty sensors offer a variety
of frequency ranges and reference sensitivities to provide the
best selection for each measurement concern.
General-purpose accelerometers
are the workhorse of the vibration monitoring, data collection
process. Designed for use in a broad range of applications (pumps,
presses, motors, fans), these sensors offer a variety of frequency
ranges and reference sensitivities to provide the best selection
for each measurement concern.
High frequency accelerometers are used when high-speed equipment,
such as turbines, compressors, gearboxes, and spindles are required
to be monitored. Unfortunately, the upper frequency range of
most general-purpose accelerometers is inadequate to measure
the vibration of high-speed equipment.
Low frequency accelerometers feature a high-output sensitivity
and a low noise floor for measuring the vibration of slow-moving
equipment, such as large rollers, cooling tower fans, and industrial
mixers.
High Temperature accelerometers are designed to work in environments
where excessive ambient temperatures exist such as steel and
paper mills.
