The Model 4990 Amplifier Rack Enclosure is designed
to provide: power, computerized control, output connections
and optional Data Acquisition to the Endevco Models 428,
482, 433 and 436 Series Amplifiers.
Provided on the output panel are four 25-pin "D" connectors
for external connection to the signal conditioner outputs.
The conditioned outputs are grouped within each connector
(up to 3 per card) for 4 cards (providing a total of 12
outputs for each connector). This minimizes the number
of individual cables required for external data acquisition
systems, making connection and disconnection easy.
The standard communication interface is TCP/IP Ethernet
Network bus, which is useful for applications where more
than one rack is connected (up to 16 Model 4990 racks
can easily be controlled from a single computer). The
channel address is automatically determined by the position
of the amplifier in the rack *("geographical addressing").
The optional computer-controlled interface utilizes the
RS-232 link, common to PC computers.
Features:
• Holds from 1 to 16 cards, any mixture of Model 400 Series
Amplifier Cards
• Automatic detection of hot-insertion/removal of amplifier
cards
• Computer control via TCP/IP Ethernet or optional RS-232
