Progressing Cavity Pumps have been used a a fluid transfer pump for years. They are ideally suited to a variety of applications within various industries, and canpump or transfer high and low viscosity products, with or without solids or long fibers, in suspension.
The primary components of a Weatherford Progressing Cavity (PC) Pump are a rotor and a stator contained inside a spiral transporter with a single, precision-milled outlet. this self-priming pump assembly is heat treated or chrome plated to resist abrasion or corrosion.
The operation of the pump is quite simple. the single helical rotor rotates inside the double helical, elastomer-lined stator. As the rotor turns eccentrically in the stator, a series of sealed cavities for 180 degres apart and progress from the intake to the discharge end of the assembly. As one cavity diminishes, another is created at the same rate resulting in a constant non-pulsating flow. the volumetric efficiency is directly proportional to the number of rotations of the pump to the size of the cavity formed between the rotor and stator.
The rugged and versatile Weatherford Progressing Cavity Pumps are ideally suited for most industrial and municipal applications.
In addition to handling water-like materials, Weatherford pumps are used to handle sludges, viscous and shear-sensitive slurries, heavy pastes and abrasive fluids. Weatherford pumps have output capacities as high as 233,280 gph.

Weatherford Progressing Cavity PumpModels:
HF and HX Series Progressing Cavity Pump
These helical pumps operate with low or high viscosity and high-temperature fluids. Bothe pumps can be used for discharge pressures up to 341 psi and flow rates from 52 to 119 gph. The HF pump has a cast iron body. the body of the HX pump is manufactured in stainless steel.
HS Series Progressing Cavity Pump
These sanitary helical pumps feature a completely polihed internal and external stainless steel body to avoid contamination of the pumped fluids. HS pumps are used for discharge pressures up to 170 psi and flow rates from 5.2 to 25 gph.
HFX and HXV Series Progressing Cavity Pump
The open-throat design of these helical pumps makes them ideal for high viscosity products. Both pumps can be used for discharge pressures up to 341 psi and flow rates from 53 to 119 gph. The HFV pump series has a cast iron body. The HXV pump series has a stainless steel body.
