Introduction

Filter Innovations represents the General Carbon Corporation. General Carbon Corporation have been in the activated carbon business for over 40 years.

We have many different types of carbon available for immediate shipment, including pelletized, granular, powdered and reactivated, made out of several different materials such as coal, coconut shell and wood. Orders of all sizes are welcomed and we can ship around the world.

Aside from the carbon we inventory, we also carry a complete line of carbon adsorption equipment. Vessels, canisters and panels of all sizes are available for the purification of vapour and liquid streams. Filter Innovations/General Carbon can also design and build custom engineered systems for unique applications. In addition to the selling of equipment, we also have the capability to service all existing carbon systems on site. This includes the removal and regeneration of the spent carbon, and its replacement with new carbon.

Spent carbon is sent to our brand new state of the art reactivation facility in southern New York State. Utilizing our patented electrical resistivity furnaces allows us to reactivate spent carbon more effectively and economically than existing technologies./font>

General Carbon/Filter Innovations also specializes in impregnated carbons, and in specialty packaging. We have on site the machinery to impregnate carbon for specific needs. In addition, we possess the equipment to package activated carbon in most any way for most any custom application.

Application Information:

Activated carbon removes organic chemicals from waste or process streams in the liquid or vapour phase. Generally, high molecular weight contaminants are more effectively removed by activated carbon than are low molecular weight contaminants. Given organic contaminant identities and concentrations, Filter Innovations/General Carbon can predict the effectiveness and capacity of activated carbon in your application. Useful for project planning, costing and treatment system sizing, activated carbon usage estimates are arrived at through adsorption isotherm based computer modeling.

With the activated carbon usage estimate and other specific information FII/GC will recommend the proper activated carbon treatment system for your unique situation.

Planning for the operation of your activated carbon adsorption system begins before adsorber selection and installation. This way the cost of spent carbon handling and recycling are minimized. Issues include site location; system size, waste characterization, operator experience and shipment to the reactivation facility or the spent adsorber can be shipped directly to the facility to eliminate waste handling at your site.

Filter Innovation has the capacity to perform complete carbon change outs either on site or at our facility. This includes the removal of the spent carbon and its replacement with new carbon.

Regeneration Of Activated Carbon:
We offer a regeneration service for spent activated carbon. Filter Innovation can provide this service for carbon whether it is manifested as a hazardous waste or not. All spent carbon is handle in accordance with all federal and state environmental laws.
