Modules can be installed up to one mile from the host computer, right next to the process. While this improves the monitoring capabilities, it also delivers and incredible cost savings in terms of wiring and cable trays - often up to 40% of the total expense of an entire system. The cost of wiring the sensors and actuators to the central host computer is replaced simply, and inexpensively, using twin axial cable to connect the system. Fast installation time The distributed, remote operation of MTL I/O 95 also speeds the installation time by removing the lengthy, and expensive, time which traditionally would be spent wiring. Quick-start implementation By providing the drivers for the exact software package you are using, MTL I/O 95 also removes configuration problems, another massive drain on the installation process. If a business is using a leading application package, they can begin using MTL I/O 95 in a single day. High-speed operation Distributed intelligence significantly increases overall system performance. MTL I/O 95 works independently of the host computer, with high-speed measurement of inputs and control of outputs, high-speed communications bus and the Intelligent I/O Processor, with memory mapped dual-ported RAM. Distributed Field Mounted I/O MTL I/O 95 lets you place the module right on the factory floor, right next to the process that's being monitored or controlled. The module is small in size, and easy to mount. Distributed I/O is inherently more reliable, and provides an architecture that is both more resilient and flexible than central control systems. Built for Industrial Environments The new MTL I/O 95 is built to excel in hostile environments. All input and output modules are safely housed in rugged enclosures and are built to handle ambient temperatures from 0 to 60 deg C, and humidity levels to 95% without affecting operation. The series automatically self-calibrates, completely eliminating potentiometers and DIP switches. Automatic self-diagnosis, CRC-16 communications error checking, monitoring of outputs and automatic software filtering provide the most reliable system available. |
